Senior Analyst - Performance & Compliance

Our Client’s Performance and Compliance Team is a specialized, client-focused group that provides critical investment analytics to internal and external clients.

We are seeking a Senior Analyst – Performance and Compliance to join the Wellington team. This role combines technical expertise with client-facing responsibility, ensuring high-quality delivery of performance, attribution, and investment compliance services.

You’ll oversee reporting from a global operations hub based overseas, engage directly with New Zealand-based clients, and play a key role in change management, service optimization, and onboarding new activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver performance, attribution, and risk reporting services for New Zealand clients.
  • Oversee and review reporting outputs from the offshore hub to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex client queries, liaising between the hub and clients.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of investment compliance mandates – creating, testing, and interpreting controls.
  • Investigate and resolve mandate breaches, liaising with investment managers and clients.
  • Support client change requests, onboarding, and process improvements.
  • Participate in service review meetings, workshops, and system demonstrations.

Ideally you will Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in performance analysis roles, including:
  • 3+ years in performance measurement & attribution reporting.
  • 2+ years in performance-related project work (e.g., system implementation, process optimization).
  • Advanced understanding of performance methodologies (e.g., time-weighted returns, IRR, attribution models).
  • Strong knowledge of risk statistics (e.g., tracking error, Sharpe ratio, alpha, beta).
  • Proven ability to interpret investment mandates into compliance rules.
  • Practical experience liaising with clients on performance and compliance matters.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VBA/SQL knowledge a plus).
  • Tertiary qualification, with CIPM/CFA (or similar) preferred.
