As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and high-quality reporting, supporting a broad range of financial processes, and enhancing client relationships. This is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic Change and Transformation Team based in Wellington, working closely with key stakeholders and driving excellence in fund accounting.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial deliverables.
- Process and validate fee payments, fee rebates, distributions, and ad hoc income and expenses.
- Act as a key player in year-end activities, including responding to audit queries and providing necessary evidence.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to streamline processes and enhance reporting.
- Participate in client B2B meetings, ensuring exceptional client service and proactive communication.
- Continuously improve process procedures and contribute valuable insights to projects and client onboardings.
- Drive efficiencies in reconciliations, client reporting, and issue resolution.
- Play an active role in change initiatives, process improvements, and industry advancements.
What You Bring to the Table:
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field (postgraduate or industry certifications are a plus).
- At least 5+ years of experience in the finance or investment industry.
- Deep understanding of fund accounting, unit pricing, investment administration, tax compliance, and reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international securities, funds management, and investment products (e.g., Unit Trusts, Superannuation Schemes, ETFs, Listed PIEs).
- Proven experience with tax compliance, ICA, SOTI, and tax returns.
- Familiarity with investment management systems and general ledger processes.
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Experience with HiPortfolio or similar investment systems (highly regarded).
