IT Support Engineer

Our client is a genuine and trusted organisation that is focused on the wellbeing of New Zealanders, providing support and services to families and communities across the country.

To ensure their IT team continue to uphold the integrity of the IT infrastructure of the company, they require a highly experienced IT Support Engineer to offer technical support in the use of 40+ applications that are implemented across the organisations’ several business units and branches.

As the IT Support Engineer, your role will include such tasks as:

  • Managing service desk tickets and providing technical support throughout the business – level 1 and 2
  • Install, configure, and repair computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners across the business units within the territory (covering the Lower North Island)
  • Develop test scripts, cases, and plans to ensure any changes, enhancements or developments to business applications are successfully implemented.
  • Identifying, evaluating and testing technology solutions
  • Managing admin and user permissions
  • Identifying potential issues
  • Problem solve and trouble shoot
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation and operating manuals
  • Assist with project delivery in accordance with project scope and deadlines

To be successful in this role we envisage the ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Development or related field
  • Professional Certifications (i.e. IBM, Apple, Amazon) preferred
  • Application Based Certification (i.e. MS Dynamics, SharePoint) preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills using a logical thought process
  • Ability to prioritise workload and adhere to deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Most importantly, candidates must possess a customer focused attitude with the drive and motivation to deliver solutions and provide a high level of support.

This is a hybrid role, working both remotely and in the office. This role will also include some travel within the North Island.
